Meet Caribbean Spiny Lobster
Panulirus argus is the warm-water lobster behind LOBROCK’s frozen, shell-on tail preview. Learn how to recognize the species, where it lives, and what our listed tail sizes mean before ordering opens.

Where does Caribbean spiny lobster live?
Caribbean spiny lobster occurs in the western Atlantic, from the southeastern United States through the Caribbean Sea and south to Brazil. Adult lobsters use reefs, bays and other coastal habitats. That range describes the species, not the catch origin of every tail LOBROCK may offer.
What makes this lobster different?
Its long antennae and protective spines stand out. Unlike the American lobster often associated with Maine, Panulirus argus has no large front claws. The tail is the part commonly harvested for seafood, which is why our preview focuses on shell-on spiny lobster tails.
What does a 5–12 oz tail size mean?
LOBROCK’s preview shows individual frozen, shell-on tail sizes from 5 oz through 12 oz. The listed weight refers to each tail, not the combined weight of a future pack. Final pack contents, price and availability will be shown only after inventory and ordering are connected.
How will sourcing work?
LOBROCK aims to compare lobster from fishermen, importers, wholesalers and seafood distributors to find a practical balance of quality and price. We do not claim every tail comes from one country. Ask about a specific lot’s origin and product details when a verified listing is available.
Common questions before buying
Can I ask about tails larger than 12 oz?
Yes. Use our contact form for larger sizes, a particular quantity or a bulk inquiry. Availability is not confirmed until an active listing is verified.
Can fishermen or distributors contact LOBROCK?
Yes. We welcome supply conversations about Caribbean spiny lobster. Tell us what you offer through the contact page; sending a message does not create a sales agreement or order.
Can I order online now?
Not yet. The storefront is in development. Prices, live stock, checkout and final shipping terms will be published before online purchasing opens.
